As for the relation between sleep time and morality, there are are many sample surveys indicating basically the same conclusion,that is, adults who sleep for 7 hours a day have the lowest mortality rate.

The length of the sleep time has certain effect on a person's life, but there is no direct proportional relation. In addition to sleep, a person's genes, physical building and other factors also have something to do with the length of the life.

The sleep quality is more important than sleep time
The sleep time needed varies from person to person. Some people need only 6 hours and they can be energetic, others need to sleep for seven to eight hours. The best time to achieve good sleep is 9 PM ~ 11 PM. During this period, the energy comes down and the response gets slowly, which will help people to enter slow wave sleep.
